In the interview I got to ask her about some of my favorite passages in the book. We also discuss the top things never to say to someone who has had a miscarriage. As Elise says, pretty much any sentence that begins with &#8220;at least&#8221; is flat out. No &#8220;At least you have other children&#8221; or &#8220;At least you know you can get pregnant.&#8221; (That last remark is something my doctor said to me, and it didn&#8217;t really feel that comforting.)<\/p>\n<p>On a related note, this week I found out that an acquaintance of mine, Adam Walker Cleaveland, lost his infant twin sons last month. They were born extremely premature at 19 weeks and could not survive.
