{"id":5238,"date":"2014-07-27T17:53:50","date_gmt":"2014-07-27T17:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/fellowshipofsaintsandsinners\/?p=5238"},"modified":"2014-07-27T17:53:50","modified_gmt":"2014-07-27T17:53:50","slug":"the-rise-of-the-spiritual-but-not-religious","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/fellowshipofsaintsandsinners\/2014\/07\/the-rise-of-the-spiritual-but-not-religious.html","title":{"rendered":"The Rise of the &#8220;Spiritual But Not Religious&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here at this intersection between God and life, I&#8217;m always interested in news pertaining to those who call themselves &#8220;spiritual but not religious&#8221;\u2014hence <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2014\/07\/19\/us\/examining-the-growth-of-the-spiritual-but-not-religious.html?smid=fb-share&amp;_r=0\">this article from <em>The New York Times <\/em><\/a>featuring the work of three other authors who, like me, are responding to the epithet that now describes one in five Americans (according to a 2012 Pew survey).
