In his opening column, CC editor John Buchanan argues that the young adults he knows\u2014contrary to studies depicting them as selfish, greedy and narcissistic\u2014are frequently generous and in search of more meaning. Buchanan supports his own experience with findings from a recent <em>New York Times<\/em> report (&#8220;Millennial Searchers,&#8221; Dec 1) that concluded millennials are &#8220;far more concerned about living a meaningful life than about making a lot of money.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Buchanan, in summarizing the report&#8217;s findings, goes on: &#8220;Reaching that goal means being connected to something bigger than self\u2014to others, to work, to a life purpose and to the world itself.
