All times are ET<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nABC<br \/>\n<\/strong><em><strong>Mixed-ish <\/strong><\/em><strong>(Tuesday, 9:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zcnQjti7hlc<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:\u00a0<\/strong>I&#8217;ll take a wait-and-see attitude toward this <strong><em>Black-ish<\/em> <\/strong>spinoff except to say I think Rainbow would make for a better title. From a Beliefnet perspective, it does take on the subject of impact being raised in a religious cult. For a serious look at that subject, I would suggest the book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/faithmediaandculture\/2016\/10\/belated-blog-elizabeth-esther-embracing-spiritual-sobriety.html\"><em><strong>Spiritual Sobriety: The Promise of Healthy Faith When Good Religion Goes Bad by Elizabeth Esther<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. Just one more thing, if ABC wants to expand on the <em>Black-ish<\/em> franchise, why don&#8217;t they pickup its<em><strong> Grown-ish<\/strong><\/em> spinoff from its smaller cable sibling Freeform.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Grown-ish Season 2B &quot;Riches to Rags&quot; Trailer (HD)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EqNqt5tSnnY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Emergence<\/em> (Tuesday, 10 :00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=aAD2deAqxCE<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment: <\/strong>The pilot was originally produced for NBC which took a pass.\u00a0 It strike me as a little like the movie <strong><em>Fargo<\/em><\/strong> meets <em><strong>The Twilight Zone. <\/strong><\/em>Time will tell whether the interesting premise holds up beyond the pilot.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Stumptown<\/em> (Wednesday, 10:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HwynrxEPSQk<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment: <\/strong>Terrible title. Call it <em>The Good Detective<\/em> and pair it with <strong><em>The Good Doctor<\/em><\/strong>. If this works, it could be a female <strong><em>Rockford Files<\/em><\/strong>. It it doesn&#8217;t, you&#8217;re looking at a female version of any of a number of crappy TV private eye shows.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CBS<br \/>\n<\/strong> <em><strong>Bob Hearts Abishola<\/strong><\/em> (Monday, 8:30 PM)<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Watch CBS&#039; Bob Hearts Abishola Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1_uYBZ7fqto?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong><em><strong> Bob Hearts Abishola<\/strong> <\/em>producer Chuck Lorre (<em>The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Mom<\/em>) has proven to be a master at producing comedies with true &#8220;heart,&#8221; so I&#8217;m going to give this one a chance. Lots of potential.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>All Rise <\/em>(Monday, 9:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Watch CBS&#039; All Rise Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/c0Aj6gG9lJM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> The original title for <strong><em>All Rise<\/em><\/strong> was <em>Courthouse <\/em>which I think was more solid-sounding. If the writing is good, this could be a classic legal drama like <em>LA Law<\/em>. If it doesn&#8217;t, well, it could be pretentious and suck.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Unicorn<\/em> (Thursday, 8:30 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Watch CBS&#039; The Unicorn Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rI9HtyuexBk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> Right up there with <em><strong>Stumptown<\/strong><\/em> in the bad title department. This looks to me like a really poor companion series to the excellent<em><strong> Young Sheldon<\/strong><\/em> which will precede it at 8:00 PM and not a particularly good lead-in to the also-excellent<strong><em> Mom<\/em><\/strong>. It may play out better than the trailer looks but, for now, this looks like a thumbs down to me.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Carol&#8217;s Second Act<\/em> (Thursday, 9:30)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Watch CBS&#039; Carol&#039;s Second Act Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6oy1USJR348?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment: <\/strong>A nice hopeful second-start premise. Also, I&#8217;m a fan of Patricia Heaton since her days on <em><strong>Everybody Loves Raymond<\/strong><\/em> (one of the best domestic sitcoms of all time). She also got a nice long run out of <em>The Middle<\/em>,\u00a0 so I would never bet against her when it comes to choosing winning sitcoms.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Evil<\/em> (Thursday, 10:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Evil On CBS | First Look\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WFvo3fS4Zwc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> I&#8217;m just not into this kind of stuff. If you ask me, they should flip the concept. Have the protagonists investigate hope-filled miracles, pair it with <em><strong>God Friended M<\/strong><\/em>e on Sunday nights and call it<em> Extraordinary Occurrences<\/em>. To me, it might have been more interesting to send her off to college, solving mysteries from her campus&#8217; student newspaper\/website.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Batwoman<\/em> (Sunday, 8:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vrIiPcv4_iY<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment: <\/strong>Self-consciously dark. What can I say? My favorite<em><strong> Batman<\/strong><\/em> is Adam West.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOX<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Prodigal Son<\/em> (Monday, 9:00 PM)<br \/>\nFOX &#8211; 8:00 9-1-1 ; 10:00 Prodigal Son<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=26C6JqBdb20<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:\u00a0<\/strong>I&#8217;m not generally a fan of shows about serial killers (which, surprisingly, after<em><strong> Dexter<\/strong><\/em>, has become something of a genre).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Not Just Me<\/em> (Wednesday, 9:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=oL-gvYvyWgA<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> A family drama &#8211; like <strong><em>The Waltons<\/em><\/strong> if Papa Walton was a fertility doctor whose sperm fathered an enormous number of kids.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>WWE&#8217;s Friday Night Smackdown\u00a0<\/em> (Friday, 8:00 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"WWE ON FOX INTRO\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xlWlWvabT38?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Comment: So, apparently the WWE is now considered an actual sports franchise. For this, they bumped the successful, faith-friendly and amusing <em><strong>Last Man Standing<\/strong><\/em> from its fall perch?<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Bless the Heart<\/strong><\/em><strong> (Sunday, 8:30 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Watch Fox&#039;s Bless the Harts Trailer | Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wWnyaSgk3qg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> This either humorously humanizes or mocks white southerners. It&#8217;s all in how you decide to react to it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NBC<br \/>\n<em>Bluff City Law<\/em> (Monday, 10:00 PM)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dHZ9LAzAxe4<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topic: <\/strong>Father and daughter lawyers tackle injustice.\u00a0 Sounds like <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Defenders_(1961_TV_series)\"><em><strong>The Defenders<\/strong> <\/em><\/a>for a new generation. I like it. Yet another terrible title though. Call it <em>The Underdogs<\/em> and you have a hit.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Perfect Harmony<\/em> (Thursday, 8:30 PM)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HcnNmiLQ6GE<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> If it ups the warmth (without getting schmaltzy) and tones down the temptation to be overly clever, this has potential.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sunnyside<\/em> (Thursday, 9:30)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Watch NBC&#039;s Sunnyside Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FXtzQ0VFeiE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong> Plenty of diversity here which is a good thing.
