Filmmaker Ken Burns will receive the Christophers Life Achievement Award on May 17th<\/sup> at the 69th<\/sup> Christopher Awards presentation in NYC.<\/strong> The Christophers are recognizing Mr. Burns\u2019 decades-long career exploring the important people, places, and events of American history, focusing always on the power of the human spirit<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Life Achievement Award honors individuals whose personal and professional contributions to making the world a better place have left an indelible mark on our culture. Previous winners include jazz legend Dave Brubeck, actor Carroll O\u2019Connor, and author\/historian David McCullough. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Christophers, a nonprofit organization, is rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition of service to God and humanity.\u00a0 The ancient Chinese proverb \u2014\u201cIt\u2019s better to light one candle than to curse the darkness\u201d\u2014 serves as the Christopher motto and guides its publishing, radio, online and awards programs.\u00a0 More information is available at www.christophers.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Danielle Panabaker\u2019s been busy helping fight villains over on The CW\u2019s \u201cThe Flash,\u201d but she\u2019s going to take a little break this Christmas to find love in a brand-new Hallmark holiday movie.<\/strong> The actress hasn\u2019t starred on the network since her 2014 fall flick \u201cRecipe for Love\u201d with Shawn Roberts, but she\u2019s ready to get back into it, this time for a new season and with a new love interest.<\/p>\n

\u201cExcited to be working with @hallmarkchannel again on Christmas Joy,\u201d Panabaker tweeted on Wednesday to share the exciting news.<\/p>\n

The movie, \u201cChristmas Joy,\u201d is based on Nancy Naigle\u2019s novel of the same name and will feature Matt Long<\/a>\u00a0(\u201cMad Men\u201d) as Panabaker\u2019s co-star. Though this will be his first Hallmark movie, a Christmas-themed one is a great way to jump right in.<\/p>\n
