\n<\/strong><\/a>Why do some liberals seem to\u00a0 feel its okay to use religion to argue in favor of their\u00a0 political positions but find it chilling when conservatives do so? The truth is we all bring our personal moral standards (often formed out of religious faith) to our stances on public policy. Where I think\u00a0 many of us, on both sides, go wrong is in suggesting that people who hold differing views are somehow not acting in good conscience or, as it were, in good faith. Most people are simply trying to figure out what’s right. It’s the arrogance of certitude that often prevents us from working together to find solutions that address everyone’s concerns and perspectives.<\/p>\n

Glenn Beck blasted for mocking Meghan McCain anti-skin cancer PSA.<\/a> <\/strong>The talk show host goes on and on about the need for respect and kindness for one another on his TV show but then gets inexplicably personal and nasty on his radio show. Cognitive dissonance. BTW, Ms. McCain looks fine.<\/p>\n

Oxford University study: religious faith is part of human nature.<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Apparently, it’s natural to seek God. Not really surprising.

NBC books The Playboy Club<\/em>.<\/a> <\/strong>Brent Bozell is going to be mad.<\/a> Network also announces series pickups for the dramas Smash, Prime Suspect,\u00a0 Awake and Grimm<\/em>,\u00a0 as well as the sitcoms Whitney<\/em> and Up All Night<\/em>.\u00a0 NBC’s official fall schedule announcement is due Sunday.<\/p>\n

CW pilots.<\/strong><\/a> Finishing up the smorgasbord of pilots being considered by the five broadcast networks for next season. The CW (which is out of the sitcom business entirely)\u00a0 announces its fall schedule next Thursday.<\/p>\n

BTW, both Heavenly<\/em> and the CBS’ Susannah Grant project mentioned here yesterday<\/a> appear to be going for some of that 1990’s era Touched by an Angel<\/em> vibe. Now, there was a show that was remarkably refreshing in its open embrace positive faith and of a loving God. While even some believers derided it as simplistic and corny, I personally found it to be well written and genuine. I apparently wasn’t alone. It was one of the most popular shows of its time.<\/p>\n
