Per <a href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2014\/film\/news\/box-office-liam-neesons-non-stop-soars-with-30-mil-while-son-of-god-earns-solid-26-5-mil-1201123924\/\">Variety<\/a>, the film also &#8220;scored an above average 80% rating among auds who would definitely recommend the film, a composite of polling done over two days.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oscar&#8217;s missing nominee.<\/strong> Meanwhile, at the Oscars, <em>12 Years a Slave<\/em> copped the Best Picture prize while <em>Let it Go<\/em> (from Disney&#8217;s <em>Frozen<\/em>) was named Best Song.<\/p>\n<iframe title=\"Disney&#039;s Frozen &quot;Let It Go&quot; Sequence Performed by Idina Menzel\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/moSFlvxnbgk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>A nice song, of course. But I can&#8217;t help lament that <em>Alone Yet Not Alone &#8212; <\/em>from the Christian-themed film of the same name &#8212; wasn&#8217;t even allowed to compete after its nomination was revoked &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/faithmediaandculture\/2014\/01\/hollywood-shocker-alone-yet-not-alone-has-its-best-song-oscar-nomination-revoked.html\">unjustifiably, in my view<\/a>. It&#8217;s exclusion just makes Hollywood seem somewhat less inclusive than it strives to be.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s one more shout out for a very nice song that deserved better treatment by the Academy. It&#8217;s performed by Joni Eareckson Tada, a quadriplegic with limited lung capacity due. Her husband Ken reportedly pushed on her diaphragm while she recorded the song to give her enough breath to hit the high notes. The song is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/alone-yet-not-alone-single\/id791859570\">iTunes<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aloneyetnotalone.com\/\">the movie <\/a>(which had a limited Oscar-qualifying release last year) is gearing up for a wider release on June 13.<\/p>\n<iframe title=\"Alone Yet Not Alone (Song) Performed by Joni Eareckson Tada\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BWVyVMbSzM4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>In any event, as the winning song suggests, it&#8217;s time to let whatever residual anger we may feel at the Academy&#8217;s snub go.<\/p>\n<p>And, on a really positive note, props to Matthew McConaughey (who received the Best Actor prize for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.focusfeatures.com\/dallas_buyers_club\"><em>Dallas Buyers Club<\/em><\/a>) for a really gracious acceptance speech.
