It&#8217;s actually a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ignatius.com\/?AID=10405753&amp;PID=1457557\">new book from Ignatius Press<\/a> (available in English on March 1) that offers a fascinating perspective on the life of Pope Benedict XVI, namely that of his brother Msgr. Georg Ratzinger who provided German author Michael Hesemann with recollections of the pontiff&#8217;s earliest days growing up in Nazi Germany. Both\u00a0 men were ordained as Catholic priests on the same day in 1951. Hesemann recently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zenit.org\/article-34366?l=english\">talked about the project with the international news service ZENIT<\/a>. Worth checking out.<\/p>\n<p>2. <strong>A gay Chrismas Carol?<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windycitymediagroup.com\/lgbt\/Gay-Christmas-movie-to-be-filmed-in-Chicago-\/36259.html\">From CBS Chicago<\/a>: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.windycitymediagroup.com\/lgbt\/Gay-Christmas-movie-to-be-filmed-in-Chicago-\/36259.html\" target=\"_blank\">A news release from the Windy City Media Group last week<\/a> announced that the movie, called \u201cScrooge &amp; Marley,\u201d will be shot in Chicago in May. The release doesn\u2019t divulge too many details about the plot, except that the \u201cChristmas Carol\u201d story will be \u201crecounted from a gay sensibility, with heart, comedy and music.\u201d<\/em><strong><br \/>\nComment:<\/strong> Yawn. Though a great humane classic, the Dickens story has <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_A_Christmas_Carol_adaptations\">pretty much been done to death<\/a>\u00a0 and I doubt\u00a0 the audience is crying out for a new one, gay or otherwise.
