That is a fact. But I don\u2019t believe in the punishing, temperamental, ambivalent God talked about freely in the Bible. In fact, many parts of the Bible are pure fiction to me.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually I discovered, that\u2019s okay, because I can still learn what is true, no matter what facts or fictions are involved.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take the story in the Bible about Daniel and the lion\u2019s den. It doesn\u2019t matter to me whether the story is true or not. It\u2019s the underlying influence that has true meaning.<\/p>\n<p>The story talks about King Darius, Daniel, and some hungry lions.<\/p>\n<p>King Darius believed he was of superior stock. Self-importance was his fact. He made a decree telling the people they had to look to him for answers and insights. \u201cYou must bow down to me,\u201d Darius commanded.<\/p>\n<p>Well, Daniel saw things differently. He preferred to look to his God for answers. I doubt he was trying to annoy Darius, but he didn\u2019t bow down to the King.<\/p>\n<p>King Darius, well, he got pee-od by Daniel\u2019s attitude. Darius demanded his soldiers to throw Daniel into a den of hungry lions.<\/p>\n<p>But, the lions didn\u2019t eat Daniel.<\/p>\n<p>Soon enough, King Darius allowed Daniel to come out of the den and then Darius pronounced a new decree. The people of the land were to obey Daniel\u2019s living God\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Living.<\/p>\n<p>God knows living truth. The living<a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/everydayspirituality\/2014\/06\/dont-be-distracted-away-from-the-power-of-truth.html\"> truth<\/a> is different from facts that become data or statistics. Data can measured or lost, while what is true can\u2019t. It goes on and on. This means that truth isn\u2019t hidden.
