J Ward Regan, Ph.D., a professor at New York University recently gave a lecture titled, \u201cFeet, Hooves, and Rails: Transportation in Nineteenth Century America,\u201d depicting how America was reshaped demographically and culturally with the invention of land mobility. The bicycle, rail roads, canals, and automobiles served to break the barriers of time and space. However, it has only been 150 years, out of thousands of years of human history, that we\u2019ve had this sense of mobility as part of our history. And, clearly it has generated unrealistic expectations. Petroleum is not going to always be available and the pollution creates problems, so our expectations must be altered to accommodate a practical realistic next move.<\/p>\n<p>Whether its mobility or the practice of spiritual healing, tools, such as <a href=\"http:\/\/healingsciencetoday.wordpress.com\/2011\/04\/23\/hard-and-soft-sciences-revolve-around-divine-science\/\">technology,<\/a> modalities, books, films, and so on are useful only when realistic expectations are attached to them.
