{"id":1577,"date":"2012-12-25T08:57:01","date_gmt":"2012-12-25T13:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/everydayspirituality\/?p=1577"},"modified":"2016-10-19T08:38:10","modified_gmt":"2016-10-19T12:38:10","slug":"constructing-the-nativity-x","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/everydayspirituality\/2012\/12\/constructing-the-nativity-x.html","title":{"rendered":"Constructing the Nativity X"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Luke 2<\/p>\n<p><sup>22\u00a0<\/sup>And when the time came for their purification according to the Law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord <sup>23\u00a0<\/sup>(as it is written in the Law of the Lord, \u201cEvery male who first opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord\u201d) <sup>24\u00a0<\/sup>and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the Law of the Lord, \u201ca pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.\u201d <sup>25\u00a0<\/sup>Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. <sup>26\u00a0<\/sup>And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord&#8217;s Christ. <sup>27\u00a0<\/sup>And he came in the Spirit into the temple, and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law, <sup>28\u00a0<\/sup>he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,<\/p>\n<p><sup>29\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cLord, now you are letting your servant depart in peace,<br \/>\naccording to your word;<br \/>\n<sup>30\u00a0<\/sup>for my eyes have seen your salvation<br \/>\n<sup>31\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,<br \/>\n<sup>32\u00a0<\/sup>a light for revelation to the Gentiles,<br \/>\nand for glory to your people Israel.\u201d (The Bible, ESV)<\/p>\n<p><em>Divine ideas will come in forms we can relate to.
