67\u00a0<\/sup>And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, saying,<\/p>\n

68\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cBlessed be the Lord God of Israel,
\nfor he has visited and redeemed his people
\n69\u00a0<\/sup>and has raised up a horn of salvation for us
\nin the house of his servant David,
\n70\u00a0<\/sup>as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
\n71\u00a0<\/sup>that we should be saved from our enemies
\nand from the hand of all who hate us;
\n72\u00a0<\/sup>to show the mercy promised to our fathers
\nand to remember his holy covenant,
\n73\u00a0<\/sup>the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
\n74\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
\nmight serve him without fear,
\n75\u00a0<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
\n76\u00a0<\/sup>And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;
\nfor you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
\n77\u00a0<\/sup>to give knowledge of salvation to his people
\nin the forgiveness of their sins,
\n78\u00a0<\/sup>because of the tender mercy of our God,
\nwhereby the sunrise shall visit us[h<\/a>]<\/sup> from on high
\n79\u00a0<\/sup>to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
\nto guide our feet into the way of peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

80\u00a0<\/sup>And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he was in the wilderness until the day of his public appearance to Israel (The Bible, ESV)<\/p>\n
