And, I find it is self-sabotaging to assume humanity is sliding backward into a disobedience to Bible instruction. The veering comes in the form of women gaining equality and rights. Slavery is declining. These moves are in alignment with an impartial God.<\/p>\n<p>The Prophet Samuel, who managed to live by the direction of God without getting sucked into the folly of believing he needed a human leader or following, was begged by the people to give them a king. Ugh, he thought. Samuel warned the people that the king who will reign over them will \u201ctake a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves.\u201d (I Sam. 8, ESV) But, the people persisted. They loved their<a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/everydayspirituality\/2013\/06\/mary-baker-eddy-saw-outside-of-herself.html\"> idols <\/a>and being told what to do, even though most of the time they didn\u2019t follow directions very well.<\/p>\n<p>Millenniums later, after beating our heads against the wall, we learn we need to think for ourselves and become accountable to moral and societal issues. What looks like a veering away from the Bible, can be interpreted as an obedience to spiritual good, that which I call God. We can obey spiritual laws, and not the physical laws that make us a slave to chaos and instability.<\/p>\n<p>From <em>21<sup>st<\/sup> Century Science and Health, \u201c<\/em>Do not believe in any supposed necessity for failure, adversity, or ruin, knowing (as you ought to know) that God never requires obedience to a physical law because no such law exists. Linear thinking is destroyed by the law of God, which is the law of Life eternal instead of death, of harmony instead of disorder, of Spirit instead of the flesh.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mass consciousness is veering away from norms as recorded in the Bible.
