“Christ Jesus taught his disciples one brief prayer, which we name after him the Lord\u2019s Prayer. The Lord\u2019s Prayer is the prayer of Spirit, not of mortal perceptions. Jesus said, \u201cPray, therefore, like this:\u201d[1]<\/strong><\/a> and he gave that prayer which covers all human needs.<\/p>\n

In the phrase, \u201cDeliver us from the evil one,\u201d[2]<\/strong><\/a> the one evil is but another name for the first lie and all liars. Only as we ascend above all habituated feelings and sin can we reach the heaven-born aspiration. The Lord\u2019s Prayer indicates the spiritual consciousness which instantaneously heals the sick.<\/p>\n

Some Bible versions include an extra line at the end of the Lord\u2019s Prayer. Bible scholars think that a later copyist may have added it; however, it does not affect the meaning of the prayer itself and has been included here in what I understand to be the spiritual sense of the Lord\u2019s Prayer:<\/p>\n

Our Father in heaven,<\/p>\n

Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious,<\/em><\/p>\n

Hallowed be Your name,<\/p>\n

One sacred nature,<\/em><\/p>\n

Your kingdom come,<\/p>\n

Your government is come; You are ever-present,<\/em><\/p>\n

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.<\/p>\n

Enable us to know\u2014as in heaven, so on earth\u2014God is omnipotent, supreme.<\/em><\/p>\n

Give us this day our daily bread.<\/p>\n

Give us grace for today; feed the starved intent.<\/em><\/p>\n

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.<\/p>\n

And Love is reflected in love.<\/em><\/p>\n

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.<\/p>\n

And God does not lead us into temptation, but delivers us from sin, disease, and death.<\/em><\/p>\n

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.[3]<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All. <\/em><\/p>\n
