My daughter goes back to school on Thursday. Emily will be a high school sophomore with a busy year planned. Over the past few weeks, she and my wife have been hitting the stores to stock up on the needed back-to-school supplies like pens, paper, notebooks and a few new things to wear.<\/p>\n

Even though I haven\u2019t been part of the shopping trips to get Emily those supplies, I am responsible (along with my wife) for making certain the other supplies \u2013 the really essential back-to-school supplies, are in abundance<\/strong> so my daughter can continue to be successful, happy and confident. <\/p>\n

These supplies include:
\n
\n1.\tProviding unconditional love<\/strong> to give her a strong foundation.
\n
\n2.\tSetting clear boundaries<\/strong> to give her the right guideposts to follow.
\n
\n3.\tShowing contentment<\/strong> for the things (and blessings) our family have.
\n
\n4.\tLiving honestly<\/strong> to remind her to be truthful with others.
\n
\n5.\tGiving her hope<\/strong> by believing most problems can be solved.
\n
\n6.\tKissing her good night<\/strong> to remind her she isn\u2019t too old for kisses.
\n
\n7.\tSharing dinner together <\/strong> as often as we can to check in, and just talk.
\n
\n8.\tSmiling everyday<\/strong> to show her a positive outlook can make a big difference.
\n
\n9.\tBeing fully present<\/strong> when she needs me.
\n
\n10.\tGiving her a stable home<\/strong> so one day she\u2019ll learn how to grow out of it.<\/p>\n
