The rationale underlying this blog is to act as a sounding board for all those seekers who seek what I call spiritual resonance. All of my life, I have been a seeker. I did not understand that I was a seeker until my late teen age years. However, I had a special reverence for God at an early age. No one had to teach me that I loved God, I just knew that I had a special relationship with God. God loved me and I loved God. I remember my eighth birthday quite clearly, even to this day. I was given a new bike by my parents. I was out riding my bike in the school yard across from our home and I head church bells ringing. Without being taught or told by anyone, I alighted from my bike and dropped to my knees and began praying. My prayer was a simple acknowledgement that I heard the bells from God’s home and whenever God spoke to me, I had to listen.

At the time, I was a staunch Catholic. As I grew older, I was not receiving enough esoteric teachings from Catholicism. Probably because, I did not know where to find them. I branched out. In high school, I became a Buddhist and a vegan for about six months. I think my love of meat, or at least pepperoni pizza, caused me to drift away from Buddhism but it was very cool for a second to chant Nam Myoho Renge Ky. I was next attracted to two books that changed my life. The first was Carlos Castaneda’s set of books about Don Juan and his warrior’s way of life and the second was Alice Bailey’s Treatise on Cosmic Fire. I loved the Castaneda books and became an instant acolyte. I could not understand Alice Bailey’s book and it took me twenty years to complete it.

As I entered college, I realized that I was a seeker of resonance with the universal spirit wherever I could find it. I could be talking with a professor or an adult that I admired and suddenly, I would feel overwhelmed by the spirit. I just knew when something or someone who also resonated with that universal spirit was in my presence. Priest or Reverend, Monk or Rabbi it did not matter. If they had that contact, I felt it and wanted to be in their presence. I also came to learn that I was not alone. The world is filled with resonance seekers. Those of us, who love to make contact with that universal spirit we Christians call God. (Yes I, have come full circle to realize I am a Christian at heart.) I have found that there are many religions in this world and many people, who are spiritual who don’t identify with a particular religion, but they all seek resonance with God or the Universal Spirit. My blog will focus upon the common aspects immanent within all religions and all spiritual practices. I believe when East meets West we can hopefully realize that we are all from the same source and we are all headed in one direction, which is the home of pure spirituality. I intend to show the truth of the phrase E pluribus Unum, out of many one. We are all one, just manifesting different aspects of the whole. I hope you will find my search for resonance among the many religions of the world as fulfilling as I have.

Welcome to my Blog entitled East Meets West.
