If you have cereal for breakfast, have only 1 cup.&nbsp; You could also add some fresh fruit, and a half a cup of no-fat milk, too, if you like.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I do include carbohydrates in my Joy of Weight Loss Food Plan.&nbsp; Cereal is one of them; I think having some whole grains can be a good start to your day.&nbsp; Carbohydrates are a source of quick energy, they can help scrub out your digestive system, some, such as oats, may help lower your cholesterol.&nbsp; Be careful, though, carbohydrates in general change to sugar in the body, and they often contain a fairly large amount of calories, so you need to limit them in your daily structured eating. <\/p>\n<p>Take a look at this video &#8211; I&#8217;ll show you what I have for breakfast, and some ideas for combining different cereals and grains, along with some fresh fruit.<br \/>&nbsp;<object height=\"295\" width=\"480\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/p1yMKfXmAo0&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1\" \/><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/p1yMKfXmAo0&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" height=\"295\" width=\"480\"><\/object><\/p>\n<p>You just don&#8217;t need a huge amount of food for breakfast!&nbsp; Remember three truths: (1) your stomach&#8217;s natural size is only about the size of your fist.&nbsp; Any more amount of food than one fist-size means your stomach has to stretch and expand in order to accommodate it.&nbsp; Give it a break!&nbsp; Let your body have only what it needs.&nbsp; (2) Your next meal is not far off, as I recommend, only 2-3 hours away.&nbsp; There&#8217;s no need to have a giant breakfast; it&#8217;s not your last meal, it&#8217;s your first of several during the day.
