{"id":829,"date":"2011-02-02T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-02-02T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/drnorrischumleysatisfiedlife\/2011\/02\/take-action-and-turn-it-over-t.html"},"modified":"2011-02-02T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2011-02-02T08:00:00","slug":"take-action-and-turn-it-over-t","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/drnorrischumleysatisfiedlife\/2011\/02\/take-action-and-turn-it-over-t.html","title":{"rendered":"Take Action and Turn It Over to God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><title><\/title><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">I am a deeply spiritual person, and I pray all the time, or at least as much as possible.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve discovered though, we need to take action, in addition to dedicating our lives to the care of God.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Many people come to God because of pain or suffering.&nbsp; When all else fails, when people let you down, and \/or things don&#8217;t go right &#8211; God is always there, waiting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Pray to God and take action.&nbsp; If you need to lose weight or get healthier, say a prayer asking God for help, but then make concrete changes in your lifestyle.&nbsp; Eat the right food, in the right amounts.&nbsp; If you&#8217;re ill, say a prayer over and over, asking God for help, but see a doctor and take action.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Prayer alone doesn&#8217;t do it.&nbsp; Prayer, in partnership with doing something about your problems, let&#8217;s God&#8217;s miracles happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am a deeply spiritual person, and I pray all the time, or at least as much as possible.&nbsp; I&#8217;ve discovered though, we need to take action, in addition to dedicating our lives to the care of God.
