On this beautiful wintry day, I woke up to a snow storm. There was white covering the trees, hills and valleys where I live, and it was very beautiful.<\/p>\n
The snow flakes were coming down, and gently floating and flowing with the breezes. Not much accumulated on the ground, thankfully, as I had to get out and get to work!<\/p>\n
I love to appreciate a beautiful scene, and especially so today, with this lovely snow.<\/p>\n
Out of the big glass, French-door windows I saw that snow covered world outside, and I though of the man who designed our beautiful home, and recommended those big window-doors. John Diebboll, our architect, passed away the other day. He was only 54 – my age too. Too young to go.<\/p>\n
I remember him especially today, as I look around our beautiful home with its simple yet graceful and thoughtful details. I see the really smart angles, the octagons in the original house that John played upon, giving us octagonal windows, curves on staircases, and in the hallways. He designed a floor-through skylight – you can see sunlight and moonlight glowing through several floors! He took a crowded first-floor, with no windows on that beautiful view, moved an old staircase, and gave us a floor-through view across several rooms.<\/p>\n

John Diebboll was a brilliant artist, and very kind man. I’ll never forget him visiting the house once finished. He rolled-up in a maroon Citroen convertible with stylish sunglasses, and Fanny – his beautiful Visla puppy jumping out of the Citroen. Such style. Such a beautiful man.<\/p>\n

He’ll be missed greatly, but we’ll think of him every day, every time we see those beautiful scenes and angles.<\/p>\n
