I just had a little lunch with an old friend. He reminds me of the way things are in the world right now – we’re lucky to have what we have.<\/p>\n
He said he was worried he was about to lose his job, even though he wants to move to a new city and find a new job, but he’s not found one in 6 months of looking. He suddenly was very thankful for the job he has.<\/p>\n
Being a devoted Christian, the thought of possibly losing the job changed everything: he felt it might be his fault because he’s made so many mistakes (“sins” he said). He was doing his best, but had told his boss he was looking for other work in a different city. That too, he thought in hindsight, may have been a mistake. Of course, he worries about providing for himself and his family. I tried to assure him that he’s not alone, many people are facing a loss of jobs and income.<\/p>\n
He reminds me that I should be very thankful for what I have, too. I am quite thankful to have many blessings of work, my health, and a great family.<\/p>\n
I was so impressed, even though he’s wrought with fear he wasn’t overeating. He had a vegetable burger and soup – no French fries or dessert.<\/p>\n
I told him that I thought God would provide for him 100%, and to trust completely, and also take the right actions in prayer, sending out resumes, and working hard. I tell myself that, too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
