You can use a frozen piecrust, or make one from scratch.&nbsp; Feel free to vary the fruits used; I picked unusual ones that are very sweet for an important dinner party we had recently. (Note: if you are diabetic, please consult your doctor about eating any pie, sugar-free or not!)<\/p>\n<p><u><b>Dr. Norris Chumley&#8217;s Sugar-Free Exotic Fruit Pie<\/b><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 425<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_ingredients.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_ingredients.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 20px 20px;float: right\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span>Ingredients:<br \/>1 \u00bd cup peaches (fresh or canned without syrup)<br \/>3 Kiwi Fruits<br \/>3 Apricots<br \/>\u00be cup Raisins<br \/>Juice of \u00bd lemon, fresh or bottled<br \/>Cornstarch<br \/>Salt<br \/>Cinnamon or Nutmeg<br \/>2 Pie Crusts (bottom and top) frozen, mix, or scratch, without added sugar<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_slicing.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_slicing.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt;float: left\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Slice the fruits into medium slices.&nbsp; Remove any and all pits!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_crust.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_crust.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 20px 20px;float: right\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roll and shape the bottom crust for a 6&#8243; pie dish, making sure to have extra dough for the sides of the baking dish. (You don&#8217;t need to grease or oil the dish by the way.) Handle the dough as little as possible, so that it will stay crispy.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_flute.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_flute.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt;float: left\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Place the crust into the dish and &#8220;flute&#8221; the edges with fingers so that it looks extra homemade!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_mixfruit.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_mixfruit.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 20px 20px;float: right\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Drain any water or juice from canned fruit. <br \/>Mix all the fruit together in a small bowl.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_stir.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_stir.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt;float: left\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Add 2 tablespoons cornstarch to the fruit mixture.<br \/>Add 1 teaspoon lemon juice (about \u00bd small lemon)<br \/>Add \u00bd teaspoon salt and \u00bd teaspoon cinnamon (or nutmeg)<br \/>Stir gently.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_everything.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_everything.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 20px 20px;float: right\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pour everything into the prepared crust in the baking dish.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_top.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_top.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt;float: left\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Roll out the top crust on a piece of waxed paper, then carefully place on top of the pie.&nbsp; Cut some designs into the crust if you like at this point.&nbsp; I made a little heart with &#8220;rays of emotions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_bake.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sf_pie_bake.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-right\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 20px 20px;float: right\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Bake in preheated 425-degree oven for about 35-45 minutes, until top crust is golden brown.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"sf_pie_serve.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/79\/import\/sf_pie_serve.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt;float: left\" height=\"150\" width=\"200\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Serve with a smile!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks Nate, for helping me with the photos.<\/p>\n<p>Please share your favorite sugar-free pie recipe by posting in the comments box below.<\/p>\n<p>And Twit with me on Twitter.com, drnorrischumley is my username.&nbsp; Thanks for signing up!<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a great sugar-free and lower-fat pie treat that&#8217;s easy to make, with exotic sweet fruit and no artificial sweetener.&nbsp; The fruit is so sweet you don&#8217;t need additional sugar.
