It\u2019s Father\u2019s Day time in the U.S., a time for celebrating dads and fatherhood in general.<\/p>\n
Probably another one of those holidays started by greeting card or food corporations \u2013 no matter \u2013 why not celebrate fathers?\u00a0 We\u2019re the great untold family stories!<\/p>\n
Fathers are, indeed, part of the equation of families.\u00a0 Without us, there are no babies!\u00a0 Yes, mothers do most of the work, carrying the baby for 9 months, then providing milk and patient nurturing for the rest of their lives.<\/p>\n
Us dads do a lot, too.\u00a0 We bring home the vegetable and soy protein!\u00a0 Just kidding\u2026 fathers work hard, earn the family\u2019s livelihood (along with moms) and are the hunter\/gatherers.\u00a0 We play with the kids, take them to all the Little League baseball, soccer games and are a source of strength when times get tough.<\/p>\n
I honor my father on this holiday, as I try to every day.\u00a0 Although he\u2019s in heaven and no longer around \u2013 I do my best to remember all the good times we had together.<\/p>\n
Also on this Father\u2019s Day, I can\u2019t help but think of my Father in Heaven \u2013 God the Father.\u00a0 He created me, and the world, and I\u2019m forever thankful.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
