We\u2019ve heard the news that Al Qaeda leader, Osama Bin Laden, was killed by U.S. Navy Seals, based on covert information gathered for almost a decade by the C.I.A.\u00a0 Yes, he\u2019s dead. The equivalent of a Hitler or a Stalin \u2013 heinous tyrants responsible for mass murders of so many \u2013 Chief Terrorist Osama Bin Laden is dead.<\/p>\n
But Al Qaeda and terrorism is not dead.\u00a0\u00a0 War between people, tribes and nations is not over.\u00a0 Killing of innocents continues, unabated.\u00a0 FEAR lives.<\/p>\n
Chants across America of \u201cGod Bless America\u201d have been heard loudly, but the \u201cwar against terror and terrorists\u201d isn\u2019t restricted to just one nation.\u00a0 America is certainly not the only, nor the biggest target of terrorists.\u00a0 By its very nature, the new war that is terrorism isn\u2019t restricted to national boarders.\u00a0 A little over 3,000 people died in the New York City World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001.\u00a0 Yet, Osama Bin Laden\u2019s Al Qaeda terrorist group (any many copy cats and splinter terrorist organizations) is responsible for at least tens of thousands of murders worldwide.\u00a0 We don\u2019t even know how many have died; by the nature of terrorism it\u2019s impossible to know.\u00a0 Al Qaeda\u2019s acts of violence may even extend to millions of lives lost, innocent or not.\u00a0 Remember the Madrid train bombings, and the nightclub in Bali, and the many embassies attacked?<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not just Bin Laden and Al Qaeda.\u00a0 Terrorism is now so rampant and so easily achieved, it’s the new, invisible war \u2013 raged inside us all.\u00a0 The very definition of \u201cterror\u201d doesn\u2019t require any bombings or killings whatsoever.\u00a0 Just the news of threats from \u201cthe enemy\u201d spreads it.\u00a0 Even journalists and news media bring terror into our lives on a 24\/7 basis.\u00a0 We\u2019ve become addicted to terror, and some even find it entertaining!<\/p>\n
Bin Laden may be dead, but terrorism isn\u2019t.\u00a0 May be a figurehead is deceased, but the possibilities of terrorist attack are a darkness behind any shouts or celebrations of \u201cGod bless America.\u201d\u00a0 With the news of the successful mission and the capture of \u201cPublic Enemy Number One,\u201d comes increased vigilance against counter attacks.\u00a0 We\u2019re still terrorized. Bin Laden\u2019s crusade of Jihad lives on in the terror of our memories, and the fears of terror possibly to come.<\/p>\n
