There has been tremendous interest in the work my advanced groups have been doing with the 12 lights<\/a> as a possible new model of imaginal and energetic healing, so I am going to post occasional reports on what we have discovered so far. Today’s entry: an account of what Karen, an artist and teacher of Active Dreaming, discovered when she took part in a group shamanic journey at a recent mountain gathering. Our shared intention: to deepen our understanding the nature of the 12 lights and how they can be used in healing.<\/p>\n

I suggested to our 30 dreamers that they should begin by calling in spiritual allies and animal guardians to help guide this journey. Karen’s primary ally was a very special power animal, which she describes as her “guardian cat”. After I started drumming, Karen quickly found herself at a personal medicine place, in a grove of willows under spring sunlight, on the bank of a winding creek. Here she called in her animal guardian, and they prepared to travel to the realm of the 12 lights.<\/p>\n

Quick as thought, she found herself in a place of healing that was new to her. She sensed other dream travelers moving silently nearby.<\/p>\n

I realize we are only on the other side of the\u00a0Willow Grove, but things are different here.\u00a0\u00a0The light is crisp, warming and enticing.\u00a0\u00a0I am given the message to find a comfortable space on the earth to settle down upon and to begin to resonate with the Earth\u2019s heartbeat.\u00a0\u00a0My guardian cat tells me to chant the five vowels and to do this several times.\u00a0\u00a0She explains that as I do this my lights will activate and turn on, tune up.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The guardian cat says once relaxed and in the zone, I may hear a humming noise, this is good.\u00a0\u00a0Now she tells me that everyone\u2019s twelve points of lights are located at different places on their body.\u00a0\u00a0What is important to do is to call them in with your mind\u2019s eye and direct at least three of them to center around your heart.\u00a0\u00a0Once you feel them in place ask them to remain in your heart center.\u00a0\u00a0Of course they will; you are in charge here.\u00a0\u00a0They will remain and possibly give off a vibration of feeling and maybe sound too.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Now, says the guardian cat, work in a clockwise motion as a spiral calling in the remaining nine lights to other places on your body that seem to call for healing.\u00a0\u00a0Once these locations are set for you, the breath is what is important.\u00a0\u00a0Breathe, says the cat, breathe the lights into mini suns, your firelight heart lights\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0Breathe like you mean it!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I do all the instructed procedures and begin to feel a humming from the various lights, I feel at one with Mother Earth\u2019s heartbeat and I feel great!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Cat is smiling and she tells me I am doing great. Now however it is time to ask the healing lights to store the energy we have created together, as they can act as batteries for us.\u00a0\u00a0It is not wise to stay on with the energizing process for too long, better to do the activating and then go into storage mode.\u00a0\u00a0However we can come back to our medicine place any time we like and when we feel the need to be charged.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

I do my de-activation into storage mode.\u00a0\u00a0The process is smooth and easy.\u00a0But before we leave my medicine place, I give an offering to the healing spirits. I know I can return here anytime to learn more.<\/em><\/p>\n

I like the idea of storing the energy where it can be accessed again, upon need. And all of us who become active dreamers can follow Karen’s example of returning to a “medicine place” for renewed discovery and healing.<\/p>\n
