If you suspect a psychic attack is under way, how do you respond? There are four key elements:

Hang up on the Intruder.

Remove or reclaim any physical objects that may link you to the intruder (when this is possible). Instruct your personal psychic switchboard to refuse all calls from the attacker. You may want to set up a mirror-shield that will return any intended harm to the sender, but you should never seek to counter-attack.

Call in Spiritual Guardians.

You know how to do this by now! Set wards and ask your animal guardians to take care of your boundaries. Know that Holderlin was exactly right when he wrote “The greater the danger, the greater the saving power.” Leave it to your spiritual allies to decide how to redress the situation.

Cleanse and Repair your Psychic Field.

If you have been under a serious and debilitating attack, this may mean taking a vacation, resting up, doing fun and, maybe, slightly self-indulgent things that have nothing to do with psychic dramas. But don’t drink too much and do not take sleeping pills – which can throw you completely open to psychic intruders.

Refer the Case to Higher Authority.

Resist the temptation to respond in kind. Even if you could vaporize your adversary, by going down to his/her level you would compound the problem and invite all manner of further trouble. Remember there are spiritual police, just as there are competing forces in the universe. If you are very highly evolved, you may be able to project love and blessing to your psychic attacker. This is the best, and most devastating response to someone who operates out of negativity and evil. If you can’t do that, you can refer the case to a higher authority – a divine agency of love or justice. One of my dear friends likes to invoke Ancient Mother. If you are attuned to the Goddess (as Mary or under any other name) you might ask Her to embrace your adversary and hold him/her in Her powerful and loving embrace. “Ancient Mother, hold and embrace X in your love and power. Help X to open to the power of Love and Light.” It works.

In the last post on this blog, we examined the signs of psychic attack.
