Our church embraces the arts and many forms of expressions are encouraged. Spoken word is one of those forms.<\/p>\n<p>It was a Sunday morning and I was dealing with bad news.\u00a0 I needed to just sit with God. As I was basking in the presence of God, a friend of mine, <a title=\"Dr. Jayce O'Neal\" href=\"http:\/\/jayceoneal.com\/\">Dr. Jayce O&#8217;Neal<\/a> got up and delivered the spoken word he had prepared for the service. I was so encouraged that I wanted to pass this along. With his permission:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>My Daily Conversation with God<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>By Jayce O\u2019Neal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe still and know that I am God<\/p>\n<p>I am God so be still.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These are Yours words from <em>Your<\/em> Word<\/p>\n<p>But is it really, honestly your will?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This world is crazy, and lazy and hazy<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m just not <em>sure<\/em>, how to look past all the obscure<\/p>\n<p>The noises ring <em>out<\/em> amidst beeps and shouts<\/p>\n<p>The bills <em>build<\/em> but money has stilled<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What am I to do, where am I to go?<\/p>\n<p>The pressure overwhelms, but I can\u2019t let it show<\/p>\n<p>Like a lit stick of <em>dynamite <\/em>seen from every vantage site<\/p>\n<p>This world seems ready to go, ready to blow\u2026so\u2026<\/p>\n<p>What exactly am I supposed to do?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe still and know that I am God<\/p>\n<p>I am God so be still.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0are\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Your \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0words from <em>Your<\/em> Word<\/p>\n<p>But is it really, honestly your will?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Be still you say? But that cannot be the way?<\/p>\n<p>Because I have sat <em>still<\/em>, I have stayed <em>still<\/em>, and I have <em>still<\/em> not seen your <em>will\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2026and then in my brief moment of pity and pride<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I heard a strong but loving voice speak softly from the other side<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeek first <em>my <\/em>kingdom, not his kingdom or her kingdom and not yours<\/p>\n<p>For I am the opener and closer of doors<\/p>\n<p>You see but a <em>key hole <\/em>of clarity,<\/p>\n<p>But with me <em>hope<\/em> and <em>provision<\/em> is not a <em>rarity<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The troubles of this world are but a <em>flea<\/em> compared to my right <em>hand<\/em><\/p>\n<p>No evil can triumph over the land where I stand<\/p>\n<p>Do not doubt, do not pout, do not fret about<\/p>\n<p>My will is my way, not yours<\/p>\n<p>Take my peace, and my joy, because my yoke is not a chore<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So yes\u2026be still,<\/p>\n<p>And know that I am God<\/p>\n<p>Do not wait until,<\/p>\n<p>Everything is perfect<\/p>\n<p>I Am God, be still.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few Sundays ago, a friend of mine presented a spoken word as part of the worship time.
