{"id":5102,"date":"2010-10-21T07:48:15","date_gmt":"2010-10-21T07:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/deaconsbench\/2010\/10\/what-would-joseph-and-mary-tweet.html"},"modified":"2010-10-21T07:48:15","modified_gmt":"2010-10-21T07:48:15","slug":"what-would-joseph-and-mary-tweet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/columnists\/deaconsbench\/2010\/10\/what-would-joseph-and-mary-tweet.html","title":{"rendered":"What would Joseph and Mary tweet?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Someone has an idea, and we&#8217;ll start to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/article\/20101020\/natwivity-brings-first-person-christmas-story-to-twitter-users\/\">see it unfold this Christmas season: <\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nThroughout Advent, Twitter users will be able to follow &#8220;Natwivity&#8221; and witness different figures from the world&#8217;s most famous story bash out 140-character updates each day.<\/p>\n<p>The characters will include Joseph, Mary, the shepherds, the three wise and King Herod.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/deaconsbench\/twitter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"twitter.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/212\/import\/assets_c\/2010\/10\/twitter-thumb-250x170-18721.jpg\" class=\"mt-image-left\" style=\"float: left;margin: 0pt 20px 20px 0pt\" height=\"170\" width=\"250\" \/><\/a><\/span>The goal of the project, organized by design company Share Creative and the U.K.-based Evangelical Alliance, is to bring the 2,000-year-old story to social media platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers hope Twitter users will get a fresh insight into the thoughts and feelings of Bible characters &#8211; from Mary&#8217;s experience of riding a donkey through the night to the awe of the shepherds when they met their angelic host.<\/p>\n<p>Huw Tyler, of Share Creative, says: &#8220;We want to tell the Christmas story, an amazingly exciting story in a way that is not only accessible, but is fun and relevant to today&#8217;s internet generation.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Daily accounts from the Natwivity characters can be read by logging onto www.twitter.com\/natwivity or by visiting the project&#8217;s Facebook page at www.facebook.com\/natwivity.<\/p>\n<p>The play will be suitable for people of all ages and begins on Dec. 1.
