When I was in formation, one of our texts was Avery Dulles’ Models of the Church<\/a>, which posits that there are different intereptations for what we all know as “church.” The varying models include Church as Mystical Communion, Church as Sacrament, Church as Herald, Church as Servant and Church as Institution. <\/p>\n

Now a reader, who is also in diaconate formation, has forwarded to me this quick quiz<\/a> on the subject. <\/p>\n

Your model of the church is Sacrament<\/b>. The church is the effective sign of the revelation that is the person of Jesus Christ. Christians are transformed by Christ and then become a beacon of Christ wherever they go. This model has a remarkable capacity for integrating other models of the church.<\/i><\/p>\n
