Online?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Who knew? <\/p>\n<p>When I was a kid, we had them in the classroom: flimsy cardboard things that were tacked to the bulletin board, and you could fold over the doors and count down the days to Christmas.  <\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s so 20th century.  <\/p>\n<p>Now, Advent calendars have gone high tech. I did some Googling and found enough online Advent calendars to keep us counting down to Christmas until the next millennium.   <\/p>\n<p>The folks at Beliefnet have put together <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beliefnet.com\/index\/index_10055.html\">a very engaging one<\/a>, with readings and even music.  <\/p>\n<p>I also found one that is<a href=\"http:\/\/www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk\/customs\/Xmas\/calendar\/\"> educational <\/a>, plus <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smmp.com\/Advent\/Advent.htm\">a parish-based version from Illinois<\/a> and this low-key <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edow.org\/spirituality\/advent\/index.html\">Episcopalian one<\/a>, with some lovely art from the National Cathedral.   <\/p>\n<p>Finally, Yahoo! has <a href=\"http:\/\/dir.yahoo.com\/Society_and_Culture\/Religion_and_Spirituality\/Faiths_and_Practices\/Christianity\/Holidays_and_Observances\/Advent\/Calendars\/\">a ton of Advent calendars<\/a> with their very own directory.  <\/p>\n<p>Surf around.
