I glanced over to the shelf next to my desk and the first book that caught my eye is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harpercollins.com\/books\/9780062516299\/The_Intimate_Merton\/index.aspx\">The Intimate Merton<\/a>, a compendium of his journals. <\/p>\n<p>Following the instructions, this is what I found, his remembrance of a dream, from a journal entry in 1958: <\/p>\n<p><i>I ask her her name and she says her name is Proverb. I tell her that is a beautiful and significant name, but she does not appear to like it &#8212; perhaps the others have mocked her for it.  When I awake, I rationalize it complacently.<\/i> <\/p>\n<p>Well.  There you have it.
