The reporter asked one of the most celebrated violinists of his age to play his fiddle &#8212; a priceless Stradivarius &#8212; on the Metro platform while people were going to work.  Would anyone notice?  <\/p>\n<p>It was a great story, wonderfully told, and I found myself inexplicably moved by it.  I folded up the clipping and put it away in my &#8220;homily file,&#8221; knowing I&#8217;d want to put it to use someday after I was ordained.<\/p>\n<p>And sure enough, in January, I preached <a href=\"http:\/\/deacbench.blogspot.com\/2008\/01\/homily-for-january-20-2008-2nd-sunday.html\">a homily<\/a> using that very story.  <\/p>\n<p>I was delighted to learn last month that the story won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing.  CWN has brought it again to our attention, with a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2007\/04\/04\/AR2007040401721.html\">the original piece<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>Take and read.
