Merton spent many weeks there before leaving New York for Gethsemani.  And the rest is history. <\/p>\n<p>Catherine Doherty and Madonna House are again in the news (this time, it&#8217;s the place up in Canada).  And again, a bit of history seems to be in the works.  What they are doing may well be unprecedented.
