And the other day, she issued <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twincities.com\/ci_10103673?source=most_emailed\">an on-air apology<\/a> &#8212; which is notable for (among other things) making a reference to the Apostle of the Gentiles: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>   Katie Couric says &#8220;sorry,&#8221; St. Paul. <\/p>\n<p>On July 29, the CBS Evening News anchor presented her profile of U.S. Sen. John McCain&#8217;s campaign. She reported: &#8220;The mother of all appearances will be in Minneapolis in September, when McCain accepts his party&#8217;s nomination.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>At the close of Monday&#8217;s broadcast, Couric cleared the air with an on-air correction \u2014 extremely rare for TV news \u2014 in which she stated that, while Minneapolis is one of the host cities, the convention itself and McCain&#8217;s acceptance speech will indeed be in St. Paul at the Xcel Energy Center. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So our apologies to all the people of St. Paul,&#8221; Couric said, &#8220;along with a reminder that the man for whom your city is named encouraged his followers to be patient and forgiving.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>A tongue in cheek editorial in the Pioneer Press late last week gently corrected her: &#8220;We hope Couric and her team do not plug in their lights and set up their cameras in Minneapolis to watch Sen. McCain accept his party&#8217;s nomination.
