(from PROMISES TO MYSELF, Conari Press)<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I&#8217;m carried a letter dated December 26, 1772 around in<br \/>\nmy journal for the month of September last year.<span>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>Did the author of this letter have any idea while penning this letter<br \/>\nthat 238 years later an artist would carry around their words?<span>&nbsp; <\/span>Likely not.<span>&nbsp; <\/span>238 years &#8211; is quite a long reach.<span>&nbsp; <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I want to have an expanded awareness that when I extend my<br \/>\nhand with my strongest reach&#8230;I have no idea of the consequences of that<br \/>\nstretch.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/span>Thinking forward to<br \/>\nthe year 2248 gives me serious pause.<span>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>What might words and actions might mean to someone&#8230;238 years from<br \/>\nnow?<span>&nbsp; <\/span>And how does that action look<br \/>\ntoday?<span>&nbsp;
