Taking an exit too soon.<\/p>\n

When we were first together, my husband\u00a0 did all the driving. We were moving to areas
\nthat neither of us were familiar.\u00a0 We did not have a GPS and with my directional
\ndyslexia, me co-piloting with a map was useless.\u00a0 When taking the journey to the
\nplace that would become our new home, I had mapquest directions in hand. But
\nmy Mr. Gordon was inclined not to believe mapquest and in several instances did
\nwhat created this phrase for us, took one exit too soon.\u00a0\u00a0 In each instance, just
\none more exit would have poured us off exactly where we needed to go.\u00a0\u00a0 As our
\nrelationship progressed and I got to do some of the driving, I was inclined to the
\nsame action.<\/p>\n

So now, we say “not an exit too soon,” when we feel on the cusp of giving up on
\nsomething.
