Bob Odenkirk is opening up about one of the most frightening moments of his life \u2014 and how his family, especially his daughter, helped him through it.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d star recently shared that when he suffered a heart attack in 2021, it didn\u2019t just impact him physically. It also wiped out an entire week of his memory.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Michael Rosenbaum\u2019s \u201cInside of You\u201d podcast, Odenkirk recalled how dangerous the situation was, especially given the COVID-era filming conditions.<\/p>\n

He explained that he was \u201cfar away\u201d from others on set, adding that \u201call the people who would hear someone screaming were across the floor of a giant studio.\u201d At first, people even thought his co-stars were joking around.<\/p>\n

Odenkirk said the moment came on quickly. \u201cI don\u2019t feel so good,\u201d he told co-star Rhea Seehorn before things took a serious turn. \u201cThen I turned gray and worse things happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

While his family stayed by his side in the hospital and during surgery, Odenkirk has no memory of any of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter made this dry-erase board that said what happened to me so that I would wake up and see this\u2026 heart, you know, attack and then to the hospital and who’s visited me and who’s in town and what day it is,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause I never had a memory that whole week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Each day felt like a reset. He remembers repeatedly asking the same questions: \u201cWhere are we? Why are you guys at the hospital?\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, a video captured by his wife, Naomi, shows just how disoriented he was. After surgery, when his kids asked if he knew why he was there, Odenkirk responded, \u201cCause I heard you guys are here.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back, he described the experience as both surreal and oddly fascinating. \u201cIt\u2019s really funny. It\u2019s really, it\u2019s crazy what your brain does,\u201d he said, explaining how his mind would invent stories to make sense of what was happening.<\/p>\n

Despite the seriousness of the ordeal, Odenkirk even found humor in what he didn\u2019t experience. \u201cI got \u2018ripped off,\u2019\u201d he joked, noting he didn\u2019t see a white light or have his life flash before his eyes, something others have described as \u201cincredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

But the experience also left him with a deeper perspective on life.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemembering how it felt to come out of that moment to realize the life that I have\u2026 and how wonderful the world can be\u2026 really kind of is [powerful],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Now, Odenkirk says he\u2019s more aware than ever of how limited time can be. He\u2019s had to confront hard truths, even telling himself, \u201cYou are not making any movies in 30 years\u2026 so what do you want to do? And how much time do you have left?\u201d<\/p>\n

At 63, he admits those reflections aren\u2019t easy. \u201cI\u2019m 63\u2026 what are you doing with your time? How are you going to use it?\u201d<\/p>\n

And while he still values his work, Odenkirk says the bigger picture matters more.<\/p>\n

\u201cWork is great\u2026 but also, you got to try to get some dimension in yourself and in your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a sobering reminder \u2014 and a powerful one \u2014 about how quickly everything can change, and what truly matters in the end.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
