It Ends Wtih Us<\/em> author Colleen Hoover is clearing the air about her recent health battle. Less than a week after revealing she was nearing the end of her radiation therapy, the best-selling writer told fans she is now cancer-free and doing well.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 17, the 46-year-old author posted a candid update on Facebook to address headlines that made her condition sound far more dire. \u201cJust clarification because of some misleading clickbait making it sound like I’m on my deathbed or something,\u201d she wrote, \u201cbut I do not have cancer anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoover explained she was first diagnosed sometime last year and had surgery that successfully removed the cancer. \u201cI was diagnosed sometime last year, had surgery that was successful, just finished radiation yesterday,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cI am done and good and all is well and has been well. My doctors doctored. Hell yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clarification came after Hoover shared an Instagram Story showing herself in a hospital gown marking her \u201csecond to last day of radiation\u201d and joking, \u201cI wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @Texas.Oncology, but they\u2019ve been great. Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoover first revealed her diagnosis privately in December, telling readers she had put off seeking answers while filming the adaptation of her bestselling novel Reminders of Him<\/em>. She admitted she had been dealing with \u201crecurring\u201d health issues, but kept pushing them aside \u201cuntil the movie was finished.\u201d By the time she shared publicly, she already knew the surgery had been successful and that she would need radiation but not chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Hoover also told fans she had met with a geneticist to learn more about what caused her cancer. In a typical blend of humor and honesty, she wrote, \u201cMy cancer did not come from family genes\u2026 This means it was more than likely environmental\/lifestyle, which is lack of exercise, poor diet and stress.\u201d She added, \u201cI\u2019m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating. I hate when science is right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoover also joked that lifestyle changes were not exactly her passion project: \u201cIf you see me at the gym, don\u2019t even tell me good job. If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I\u2019m probably real mad about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her health journey unfolded during an incredibly busy stretch professionally. Three of her novels \u2014 Regretting You<\/em>, Verity<\/em>, and Reminders of Him<\/em> \u2014 are making their way to the big screen, and her newest book, Woman Down<\/em>, hit shelves on Jan. 13. Meanwhile, It Ends With Us<\/em> has continued to draw headlines following a legal battle between stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.<\/p>\n
