Reality TV star Kate Gosselin, known to many as the mom from Jon & Kate Plus 8,<\/em> recently reached out to her followers with a heartfelt plea for prayer after suffering a medical emergency that left her hospitalized and in surgery.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old, who now works as a nurse, first shared the news on TikTok, posting<\/a> a photo from her hospital bed with her arm connected to an IV and a pulse oximeter clipped to her finger.<\/p>\n

“Please pray for me tonight and tomorrow. I will be fine, but I’m scared and would appreciate prayers! Thanks, guys,” she wrote, adding a prayer hands emoji.<\/p>\n

In her caption, Gosselin reassured fans that she would share more details when she was able: “Emergencies don’t care about schedules! Please DON’T worry about me! Please pray instead!”<\/p>\n

Support quickly poured in from her online community. One fan wrote, “You are a strong woman who can do hard things! Praying to Jesus for your comfort and healing.” Gosselin responded gratefully: “Thank you! I had to call upon that strength that I know I have deep down tonight! And I appreciate your prayers!”<\/p>\n

Others expressed concern for her children, but she reassured them, “Yes! They are\u2026just me\u2026thankfully!”<\/p>\n

The mother of eight continued to engage with fans, liking comments and thanking them for their support as prayers and well-wishes filled the comment section.<\/p>\n

Gosselin updated her followers again, this time posting<\/a> a photo of herself intubated after surgery.<\/p>\n

“Update: I had surgery this morning and have five different pain meds on board (top 3 most painful surgeries). I am not in a position to go into details, but only because I can’t focus. I did well. Details coming soon. I CANNOT thank you enough for all your prayers!” she shared.<\/p>\n

Later that day, Gosselin revealed the cause of her emergency during a TikTok Live session from her hospital bed. She explained that the injury happened while she and her boyfriend were playing fetch with her German shepherds, Nanuq and Meika. One of the dogs collided with her leg at full force, causing a tibial plateau fracture\u2014a break in the shinbone just below the knee joint.<\/p>\n

“In terms of rating pain\u2026 I’ve had kidney stones, and this literally rates up there,” she admitted.<\/p>\n

Doctors performed surgery to stabilize her leg with plates and screws. Gosselin told fans that her physician called the accident a “life-altering event” and informed her she would not be able to bear weight for at least three months.<\/p>\n

“That really sucks,” she said honestly. “I hate to think about it.”<\/p>\n
