Christian singer-songwriter David Crowder is asking fans for prayer after an unexpected injury landed him in the hospital and forced him to cancel several upcoming shows.<\/p>\n

The 53-year-old “Glorious Day” artist revealed<\/a> on Instagram that he had undergone “emergency surgery” after breaking his leg.<\/p>\n

“I’m not nearly as athletic as I thought I was,” Crowder wrote alongside a photo of himself smiling from a hospital bed. “I’ve broken my leg and had to have emergency surgery, including some plates and screws. [I]’m on the mend, and we will figure out how to get back there as soon as we can! Thanks so much for the prayers.”<\/p>\n

Crowder was scheduled to perform at the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tennessee, but the accident made travel impossible. Still, he shared a personal video message with the fair, letting fans know how much he wanted to be there.<\/p>\n

“Listen,” he said in his signature southern drawl, “I cannot wait to get there.”<\/p>\n

The worship leader, known for blending bluegrass, rock, and worship into his unique sound, kept the mood light by joking about the surgery. “Basic carpentry, carpentry for bones,” he quipped, describing how doctors repaired his leg with plates and screws.<\/p>\n

“We’re gonna be back at Appalachian Fair because you’re my people and I gotta see you soon,” he promised.<\/p>\n

The announcement quickly drew an outpouring of support from fellow Christian artists and friends.<\/p>\n

“Crowder\u2026 What in the world\u2026 Wanted you to know that I’m praying for you,” wrote legendary Christian musician Michael W. Smith. “Quick healing\u2026 For sure. Love you.”<\/p>\n

Pastor and author Jonathan Pokluda added, “Praying brother! I’m so sorry!”<\/p>\n

Worship artist Charity Gayle also joined in, commenting, “Praying for you!”<\/p>\n

Tauren Wells, another leading voice in Christian music, replied simply, “This is terrible!!! Praying!!!”<\/p>\n

Crowder’s injury comes just as the Christian music community has been sharing another testimony of God’s healing power. Fellow singer-songwriter Forrest Frank recently revealed that God miraculously healed his back after a skateboarding accident left him with two fractures.<\/p>\n

“I have complete healing in my back,” Frank said, explaining that an X-ray showed no trace of the fractures. “I have no fractures in my back, no sign of a fracture in my back. So, praise God, we saw a miracle.”<\/p>\n

While Crowder’s recovery may require more time and physical healing, his cheerful spirit and reliance on prayer have encouraged fans to believe in a quick and complete restoration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
