On a recent episode of the \u201cRelatable<\/a>\u201d podcast with conservative Christian commentator Allie Beth Stuckey, members of \u201cDuck Dynasty\u201d star Phil Roberston spoke about his deteriorating health as he battles Alzheimer\u2019s. Phil\u2019s sons, Al and Jase Roberston, shared with Stuckey the changes they have seen in their father since going public with his condition in December. \u201cI just really believe now more than ever in the power of prayer, and you get as many people [as possible] praying for my dad, and we\u2019re very grateful for that,\u201d said Jase, noting an improvement in his father\u2019s spirit since the new was announced. After admitting he thought his father had only \u201ca few days to live,\u201d he said going public seemed to bring about an improvement. \u00a0\u201cWhen we went public with it, I was amazed because I took my son down there and he was like, \u2018Well, he\u2019s doing a lot better than I thought.\u2019\u201d Jase stated he thought the improvement was a result of \u201canswered prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to his Alzheimer\u2019s diagnosis, Phil is battling a blood disease that has left him with \u201cmultiple back fractures.\u201d The brothers shared that their father\u2019s condition is \u201cday-to-day,\u201d with some days better than others. Unfortunately, Phil isn\u2019t the only one with health issues either, with the family revealing<\/a> on their \u201cDuck Call\u201d podcast that Phil\u2019s wife, Kay, had suffered another fall that required surgery. \u201cKay had another fall, which, she falls a lot. And it was a substantial injury,\u201d said Jase. Jase and his brother, Willie, reflected on what it\u2019s like to care for their aging parents. \u201cMentally, neither one of them are where they once were,\u201d said Willie.<\/p>\n

Phil\u2019s brother, Si Robertson, also spoke about getting older and how his faith informs his reaction. \u201cI know I am gonna die one day\u2026death is nothing but a transfer of where I\u2019m gone be living,” he said, calling it a \u201cchange of address.\u201d In addition to dealing with health crises, the family is preparing for a relaunch of its popular show, which ended in 2017.
