After initially asking for prayers<\/a> for his wife, Lauren, who had been battling an unknown virus in the hospital, Matt Chandler informed his followers that she had finally been discharged home. After noting that the couple were still waiting to hear back on some labs, Chandler wrote<\/a>, \u201cOur infectious diseases doc is informing the hospitalist that we can go home!! Thank you for all your prayers. Please pray for her recovery now which is apparently going to take a couple months.\u201d He later updated to confirm that they were officially home.<\/p>\n

Lauren\u2019s discharge concludes a 10-day stay that included double pneumonia and a headache from a spinal tap. Chandler noted his wife had been admitted due to \u201cSuper high fever and other symptoms.\u201d He also informed his followers that doctors, \u201cStill can\u2019t quite figure out what\u2019s causing it all. She has been poked, prodded and scanned up and down and the fever persists. Prayers appreciated. Thank you to all our family and friends who have filled in the gaps.\u201d Thus far, Chandler noted that labs had been unable to confirm what sort of virus was ailing Lauren but that doctors had \u201cruled out all the scary stuff and most of the autoimmune disorders.\u201d What her recovery at home will look like is unknown, but Chandler\u2019s Instagram was filled with well-wishes for a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n

Lauren herself posted to her own Instagram<\/a> with two videos labeled \u201cproof of life.\u201d Lauren noted she \u201cactually had energy\u201d to do her hair and called the experience \u201ca crazy couple of weeks.\u201d She thanked the many people who had supported her, including elders in the church, her parents, and her church. \u201cI\u2019m on the mend,\u201d she said. She said she was feeling \u201cthe most normal\u201d she had felt during the last two weeks. \u201cThe Lord was kind. I felt him near me, even though it wasn\u2019t really fun,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I felt His presence.\u201d She said she could feel His presence through prayers and the \u201ckindness of the saints.\u201d Please continue to pray for Lauren during her recovery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
