Phil’s son, Jase Robertson, shared the difficult update on the podcast, explaining that his father’s condition is deteriorating. “Phil’s not doing well. The doctors have told us he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems, and now, early stages of Alzheimer’s. It’s like everything is accelerating, and he’s struggling,” Jase said.<\/p>\n

The once vibrant storyteller and entrepreneur, who co-founded the Duck Commander Company and inspired millions with his faith, can no longer participate in the family podcast due to his condition. “He misses it. He misses the stories we tell,” Jase said, adding that Phil is often in severe pain and unable to engage as he once did.<\/p>\n

On the April 2 episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family<\/em> podcast, sons Jase and Al Robertson, and their cousin, Zach Dasher, revealed that Phil is not doing well.<\/p>\n

“The No. 1 question I get everywhere I go [is], ‘How’s your dad doing?’ Now, I\u2019m just giving the blunt truth. I say, \u2018Not good,'” Jase said.<\/p>\n

Jase also shared that Zach had recently visited Phil and had a difficult time processing Phil\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n

“I pulled in when Zach was coming out \u2026 and I was like, ‘How’d that go?'” Jase recalled. “And Zach just lost it, you know, and I kind of realized in that moment when you’re in these battles day by day you kind of compartmentalize everything just so you can deal with it.”<\/p>\n

“We’re making him comfortable and we’re doing the best we can. I think that’s just what you do,” Jase added.<\/p>\n

Zach, who had experienced the effects of Alzheimer\u2019s with his own mother, said the visit was difficult because he hadn\u2019t seen Phil in a while, and the decline was more noticeable.<\/p>\n

“I think when you’re in it like you guys are, you’re seeing the fade. But I hadn’t been around or seen him in a few months. So I come in and it’s like, ‘Whoa,'” he said, comparing it to how Si Robertson reacted to seeing Zach\u2019s mother during her illness.<\/p>\n

“I’ve said this a lot about dementia and Alzheimer’s. But I think anyone in our audience who’s gone through it \u2026 this will resonate with them \u2014 that we talk a lot about how it steals the memories of the ones who have the disease,” Zach shared.<\/p>\n

He continued, “But for me, it also steals the memory of the ones caring for the people who have the disease, because you’re seeing this slow progression over time, and it’s just hard to watch.”<\/p>\n

Despite the difficulties, the Robertsons expressed deep gratitude for the support they’ve received. “We appreciate the prayers,” Jase said, thanking their family, friends, and fans for their encouragement during this challenging time.<\/p>\n
