Ann Wilson, the lead singer of the band Heart, recently announced that she\u2019s been diagnosed with cancer. The 74-year-old wrote in a statement posted to social media, \u201cI recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous.\u201d She said the operation was \u201csuccessful\u201d and she\u2019s \u201cfeeling great,\u201d but \u201cmy doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy & I\u2019ve decided to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that her doctors have advised her to take the rest of the year away from performing and that\u00a0Heart’s North American tour\u00a0will be postponed until next year. The band is currently on its “Royal Flush” tour of the U.S. and Canada, which was set to continue at the end of July in Ohio and close in Las Vegas on Dec. 15. Along the way, they planned to make stops in dozens of other cities. The\u00a0Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band\u00a0is known for hits like\u00a0“Magic Man,” “Crazy on You,” “Barracuda” and “Alone.”<\/p>\n
