The 56-year-old star was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022 and has been battling the neurological disorder since. She released the trailer for her new documentary, &#8220;I Am: Celine Dion,&#8221; which drops on June 25. The singer took a break from performing but has been filming behind the scenes with Amazon to share her health struggle.<\/p>\n<p>Stiff Person Syndrome affects the nervous system and can cause painful spasms that worsen over time. In the trailer for &#8220;I Am: Celine Dion,&#8221; the singer broke down in tears over her condition and vowed that she would crawl to her shows. She said, &#8220;I\u2019ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, and I wasn\u2019t ready to say anything before. But I\u2019m ready now.\u201d In the trailer, the audio from a 911 call could be heard over several shots of Celine taking medication. Dion got emotional after saying she\u00a0had to cancel shows\u00a0due to\u00a0her bad health.<\/p>\n<p>She said through tears, \u201cIt&#8217;s not hard to do a show; it&#8217;s hard to cancel a show. I&#8217;m working hard every day, but I have to admit that it&#8217;s been a struggle. I miss it so much, the people, I miss them. If I can&#8217;t run, I&#8217;ll walk. If I can&#8217;t walk, I&#8217;ll crawl. But I won&#8217;t stop.&#8221; Dion first revealed that she was suffering from the condition in 2022 when she was\u00a0forced to cancel\u00a0several concert dates. She told fans she was suffering from a rare autoimmune condition and then took a step away from the spotlight. She shared an\u00a0Instagram\u00a0photo beside her three sons, Ren\u00e9-Charles, Nelson and Eddy, who she shares with her late husband, Ren\u00e9 Ang\u00e9lil, on Stiff Person Syndrome Day.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KzV4mSZPke0?si=o6f54VCzr91l8qE7\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She captioned the post, &#8220;Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible. I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you! I want to send my encouragement and support to all those around the world\u00a0that have been affected by SPS. I want you to know you can do it! We can do it! Love Celine xx\u2026&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Her documentary is a way of showing her battle with the syndrome, which is not widely known to the public. There\u2019s currently no known cure, and Dion is hoping to get back into performing. According to the Amazon listing, the show described the documentary as an intimate look into her private battle. The description reads, &#8220;I Am: Celine Dion gives us a raw and honest behind-the-scenes look at the iconic superstar\u2019s struggle with a life-altering illness.
