Because the basic difference is easy to explain — a Solar Eclipse is when the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth, and a Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Moon and the Sun.<\/p>\n

But in Astrology, it’s more complicated than that \u2026<\/p>\n

In a Solar Eclipse, which can only happen at the New Moon, the shadow of the Moon is cast on the Earth and fully or partially blocks the Sun. This darkness can also cast a shadow on our innermost selves, so it becomes a time to turn within and explore your emotions.<\/p>\n

A Lunar Eclipse, on the other hand, can only occur when there is a Full Moon, and the shadow of the Earth is cast on the Moon. The sky becomes very dark at this time, but the Moon itself appears luminous, with a soft pink or orange hue.<\/p>\n

This “soft” looking Moon has a likewise softer effect on our emotions and this time, giving you the ability to lighten up, shed old habits and start to move forward.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow’s Lunar Eclipse takes place in Scorpio, so it won’t be as “soft” as some, but we can definitely rest assured that it will bring changes intended to spur us forward.<\/p>\n
