Now, the conservative movement needs to hold its leadership to account on the issue. If not, then the politicians will continue to cultivate the crazies and undermine the conservative movement&#8217;s credibility as Erick fears.<\/p>\n<p>A commentator at the thread <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redstate.com\/erick\/2010\/02\/12\/vigilance-im-banning-birfers-truthers-and-groups-affiliated-therewith\/#comment-55232\">asks<\/a>, <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Birther Candidates?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.redstate.com\/users\/jeffscottshow\/\">jeffscottshow<\/a> Friday, February 12th at 4:52PM EST (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redstate.com\/#comment-55232\">link<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>So where does this leave RedState with regards to birther politicians and candidates? Will RS support JD Hayworth? I know RS is endorsing Karen Handel in GA-GOV race, but what about Rep. Nathan Deal in the meantime?<\/p>\n<p>I refuse to support anybody who gives the slightest indication that they might be a birther.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Good questions and laudable sentiments, indeed. If RedState is serious about Birthers then they need to take a firm stand where it counts, not just banning users but also targeting pro-Birther politicians and candidates.
