Each one runs (its course) for a term<br \/>\nappointed. &#8212; <i>(Qur&#8217;an 13:2 &#8211; Yusufali)<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I am reminded of this ayat by <a href=\"http:\/\/antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov\/apod\/ap080922.html\">yesterday&#8217;s Astronomy Photo of the Day<\/a>, depicting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.erh.noaa.gov\/box\/equinox.html\">Autumnal Equinox<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/abde\/2881620013\/\" title=\"seasons_tezel by abde, on Flickr\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3089\/2881620013_704606853c.jpg\" alt=\"seasons_tezel\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The phot shows the path of the Sun in winter (bottom band), summer (upper band) and the Autumn Equinox (middle band), when the length of the day and the night are exactly the same. To a fasting muslim, the Autumn Equinox has special relevance &#8211; in a nutshell, the fasts get shorter from here on out \ud83d\ude42 In two years most of Ramadan in the northern hemisphere will occur prior to the equinox.
