If the Court strikes down the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) today, then I for one am not too worried<\/a>, even though I’m a liberal supporter of the bill and the President. The reason is simple: it will be proof that compromise with the Republicans is not possible and that it is time for Medicare for All.<\/a> <\/p>\n

Remember – the Republicans were for the individual mandate before they were against it.<\/a> And a decision today by the Court against Obamacare on that basis will just be the latest in a string of decisions starting with Bush v Gore in 2000 to Citizens United last year that have sullied the honor of the Supreme Court<\/a> itself. <\/p>\n

There simply is no other way to go, since covering America’s millions of uninsured is a humanitarian priority (and the current status quo, where millions of families are a layoff away from losing coverage, is simply unsustainable).
