Several hundred<br \/>\nsuspects were taken into custody, he said.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. officials<br \/>\nwould not comment on the nature of the intelligence of a probable<br \/>\nterrorist incident, but in November 2007, Saudi security forces<br \/>\narrested 208 al-Qaida suspects accused of planning an attack during the<br \/>\nHajj. Another 28 suspects were arrested the following month.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Who, exactly, is waging a war against Islam? Given that their targets are the innocent, the pious, and the weak, Al-Qaeda&#8217;s claims of doing jihad are exposed. This is not jihad but <i><a href=\"http:\/\/cityofbrass.blogspot.com\/2002\/10\/wretched-are-those-who-call-for.html\">hirabah<\/a><\/i>, and they are not mujahidin but <i><a href=\"http:\/\/cityofbrass.blogspot.com\/2005\/02\/hirabah-muharib-and-hujjat.html\">muharib<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Related: At Talk Islam, <a href=\"http:\/\/talkislam.info\/2008\/12\/10\/eid-ul-adha-suicide-bombing-in-frontier\/\">a discussion about reviving the practice of takfir<\/a>. Takfir is a political weapon, and thus far mainstream Islam has been disarmed.
