So much left undone, so much to try to continue to do, so much room for improvement!<\/p>\n<p>Unlike <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/cityofbrass\/2010\/09\/observing-eid-unobserving-9-11.html\">last year<\/a>, Eid stands on its own. <a href=\"http:\/\/esbnyc.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/75\/2011\/08\/esb_eid.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"113\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1238\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s nice to see that the Empire State Building has again honored Eid with the green lighting, and the US Postal Service has released a new version of <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/cityofbrass\/2008\/09\/eid-alfitr-mubarak.html\">the classic Eid stamp<\/a>, this time in Red. See:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.usps.com\/webapp\/wcs\/stores\/servlet\/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&amp;storeId=10052&amp;productId=10007923&amp;langId=-1\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/75\/2011\/08\/eid_forever-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1237\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Beautiful! (click the image to order directly) It also honors Eid al Adha as well as Eid al Fitr, so it&#8217;s kind of a two-for-one. It&#8217;s also a Forever stamp, which means even if the postage rate increases in the future, these will still suffice (unlike the last version). I&#8217;m tempted to send a printed copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.beliefnet.com\/cityofbrass\/2011\/08\/the-american-islamophobia-industry-exposed.html\">the Islamophobia report<\/a> to David Horowitz, postage paid using a pile of these. No, such sentiments do not befit Eid. Maybe the day after&#8230; <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Shan-Nihari-Curry-Mix-60g\/dp\/B000MSOCH2\/cityofbrass-20\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp-media.beliefnet.com\/sites\/75\/2011\/08\/159_Shan-234-Nihari-Curry-Mix.jpg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"269\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1239\" \/><\/a>For now, it&#8217;s time to sleep, then wake, then go celebrate &#8211; with a big thaal full of <em>nihari<\/em>. Basically, spiced chunks of marinated meat in spicy curry with ginger and naan.
